Canada to impose tariffs on over 700 US products from September 8

Canada has announced retaliatory tariffs on about $20 billion of annual US imports, including clothing and carpets, from September 8.Duties of 15 per cent, 25 per cent and 50 per cent will cover around 700 products, matching Washington’s measures.Ottawa also unveiled a C$7.5 billion support package for affected businesses and workers, including cash-flow assistance and aid for at-risk employees.
