The actor has returned to the set of Empire in Chicago less than one week after he was targeted in an apparent hate crime attack, according to TMZ.
Reps for Fox and Smollett did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Smollett, 35, filmed the final scenes of season 6 on Monday and participated in a table read the following day, TMZ reports.
