Black Icetea, FABRIS, and Jen Nivér Keep Melodic Techno Moving

A lot of melodic techno gets stuck in a very predictable contract with the listener.Set the vocal up. Open the filter. Let the lead bloom. Build the tension. Hit the drop. Then do it again a little louder. It works because the formula works, but the formula can also make a track feel like it is reading from a manual.“Free Falling” works better than that because Black Icetea, FABRIS, and Jen Nivér do not treat the emotional vocal as an excuse to rush toward the biggest moment.
