Former Sheffield Hallam Deputy Director for Sport and Recreation caps a career in the beautiful game

74-year-old John Warnock was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s honours list for his for services to higher education sport. A keen footballer in his younger years, John took up the role of deputy director for sport and recreation at Sheffield Hallam University – formerly Sheffield Polytechnic – as well as becoming head coach for their football team.
