Investigation Launched Following Man's Death At HMP Wakefield

Wednesday 5 November 2025At 8.25am this morning, police were called to HMP Wakefield on Love Lane to reports a prisoner had died in his cell.  Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry team attended and have launched an investigation. The man’s death is currently being treated as suspicious.  Three men, who are all serving prisoners, have been arrested on suspicion of murder with enquiries continuing to establish the full circumstances of the death. Find out more:
