Summer Album #23: Liz Sumner − our first female driving instructor

There are few questions that split the sexes more than: “Who are the best drivers − men or women?"Back in 1987, PC Liz Sumner put forward a strong case for the fairer sex when she became West Midlands Police’s first female driving instructor. Today West Midlands Police has 12 PDIs − including senior instructor PC Jane Smith who is an instructor to the driving instructors!Liz is the latest addition to our Summer Album.
