Stourbridge man jailed for life after New Year’s Day murder

A man who admitted beating his neighbour to death after a drinking session on New Year’s Day has been jailed for life.Unemployed Daniel Jones, aged 34, pleaded guilty yesterday (Monday 6 June) at Wolverhampton Crown Court to killing 59-year-old Paul Tompkins at his home in Stourbridge, on New Year’s Day this year, after Mr Tompkins had invited him in for a drink.After launching the attack, Jones then stole property from Mr Tompkins, which he sold to buy more alcohol.Paul Tompkins, kn
