Police take action over roadside windscreen washers

Police in Birmingham have stopped a number of roadside windscreen washers – who are committing begging and traffic offences – following their reappearance on the city’s roads. 

The beggars, who were spotted last week after an absence of a few months, have been seen on Hagley Road, near the Plough and Harrow pub, and on Belgrave Middleway, where it meets the Bristol Road.
