Notorious Coventry gun-smuggler back behind bars for armed robberies
A notorious Coventry crook - once jailed for trying to smuggle an arsenal of guns and explosives into the UK - is back behind bars after West Midlands Police linked him to armed robberies in Birmingham. Leon Chapman struck at Lloyds Bank in Newhall Street on 18 May last year - shortly after being released from prison following a 19-year term for importing revolvers, shotguns and grenades via Felixstowe port - and Morrison’s Supermarket in Small Heath on 9 June.
