Man jailed for 14 years for stabbing chip shop owner

A man who repeatedly stabbed a Birmingham take-away owner has today (28 July) been sentenced to 14 years behind bars.In a statement to the court, the victim of Leon McTaggart’s unprovoked and frenzied attack has spoken of the “profound” impact the 29-year-old’s visit to Simply Fish & Chips, Hagley Road West in Quinton, on 6 November 2014, has had on him and his family.
