Man charged in connection with bank worker held hostage

A man has been charged in relation to holding a staff member hostage at a Birmingham bank on Friday (17 March).David Hempseed is accused of false imprisonment and possession of an imitation firearm at Natwest in Bristol Road South, Northfield.The 60 year-old of Northfield, Birmingham, is also charged with possession of a knife and arson with intent to endanger life. He has been remanded in custody to face the allegations at Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday).
