Detectives have launched an investigation after a robbery at an elderly man’s Netherton home on Wednesday night (28 September) when he was threatened with a knife on his doorstep. A man knocked on the 70-year-old’s door in St Peters Road and pleaded for cash to take his dog to the vets − but when the sob story failed the unwanted caller pulled out a knife and pushed it under the man’s chin.He suffered a two-inch cut − an injury that required hospital treatment
