Enquiries continue into ‘fridge lorry’ illegal immigration suspects

Five people thought to be illegal immigrants remain in police custody this morning – with a sixth in hospital having suffered two broken ankles – on suspicion of landing in the UK in the back of a refrigerated lorry.West Midlands Police were alerted at around 3.15pm yesterday by an emergency call from a member of the public reporting people jumping from the back of a truck in Brockhurst Crescent near the M6 at junction 8.
