Dudley man charged after citizens’ arrest

 

A Dudley man will appear before magistrates this morning charged with attempted robbery and possessing a bladed weapon in public. 

Ben Wilkes of no fixed address was arrested yesterday morning (22 February) in Hillcrest Road after three members of the public chased after him and pinned him down until police arrived. 

The 27-year-old is charged with the theft of a handbag which was snatched from a woman in Trindle Road just after 8.30am. Although badly shaken, the 49-year-old woman was un
