Britain’s best brains helping West Midlands Police cut crime

West Midlands Police is increasingly turning to academia in a bid to identify innovative ways of cutting crime and anti-social behaviour.

The force has established an in-house Academic Research Team to cement relationships with universities across the UK - and it's resulted in scholars working on projects on everything from police patrol plans to supporting domestic abuse victims.
