More than 100 people a week are relying a soup kitchen at Sneinton Market. The WalkersNotts group provides hot meals, takeaway food packs, toiletries and sleeping bags to the city's homeless and can be found at the market every Tuesday from 6.30pm. It was set up last September by Bilborough resident Denise Walker, 53, in memory of her brother, Robert, who passed away aged 56 two years ago and who had travelled to India every year to take clothes and food to the needy.
