TomNorton published Stapleford's Saxon landmark commemorated at plaque unveiling

The Saxon history of Stapleford will be preserved for generations to come as the town commemorated one of its most famous landmarks. The Saxon Cross, outside St Helen's Church in Frederick Road, is thought to date between 800 and 850AD. It now has been given its own historical plaque. Unveiled at a ceremony on Wednesday, the plaque provides information about the cross and its origins.
