TomNorton published Power cut hits 2,000 houses in St Anns

A CABLE fault caused 2,000 homes to lose power yesterday afternoon in St Ann's near the city centre. The incident took place at around 2pm this afternoon and affected properties along Huntingdon Street and Mansfield Road. It was resolved 40 minutes later by network operator Western Power Distribution. The cut was caused by a cable fault which the company said it would be investigating why it happened. A spokesman for Western Power Distribution said: "We are very sorry for any inconvenience.
