TomNorton published Firefighters put out waste paper basket fire at student halls

Two fire crews were sent out to a student accommodation block earlier this afternoon after a fire started in a waste paper basket.Firefighters from Central and Carlton rushed to Victoria Hall in Curzon Street at around 1.20pm on Wednesday, May 20.A hose jet and a ventilation fan were used to deal with the fire.The damage to the property was said to be minor and all of the occupants were accounted for. Emergency services left the scene just after 2pm.
