TomNorton commented Ex-miners' welfare club re-opens as micro-pub

An ex miner's welfare club which has been shut for almost decade has reopened as a bespoke micro-pub. Miners Retreat in Eastwood Road, Kimberley, once the Kimberley Miners' Welfare Club, has re-opened after shutting around 2008. In its heyday the club, which is more than 80 years old, had around 800 members and was a busy community hub.
