A council tenant accidentally caused £9,000 damage to his home when he set rubbish on fire too close to an outside wall, a court heard.Kevin Hinchley had innocently started the blaze in bags of paper by his timber-clad mid-terraced house, Nottingham Crown Court heard on Tuesday, June 16.But the fire on June 7, last year, spread to the fascia, to the back of the house, and into the roof, causing extensive smoke damage.Hinchley was assaulted by unnamed people afterwards and his wife stabbed.
