Chesterfield say Mark Crossley's move to become new Notts County boss John Sheridan's assistant 'came out of the blue'. The former Nottingham Forest shot-stopper left his role as goalkeeping coach with the Spireites to become part of Sheridan's backroom team at Meadow Lane. The pair have worked together previously, when Sheridan was manager at Chesterfield. And Crossley joins Alan Smith, Mike Edwards and Kevin Pilkington in making up the Magpies' new-look coaching set-up.
