Campaigners in Nottinghamshire have welcomed new laws to target domestic abusers who control their victims – even if they do not resort to physical violence.The new offence, which came into force yesterday as part of the Serious Crime Act 2015, sees "controlling or coercive behaviour" of partners or family members become punishable by up to five years in jail.
