Mount Street, cruelly divided by Maid Marian Way, has long been one of my favourite thoroughfares. On one side of the dual carriageway, Laguna; on the other, for many a year, Beattie's toy and model emporium. I would gaze longingly into its windows at the Meccano sets and wonder how long it would take me to save for the King Class locomotive with a train of coffee and cream Great Western carriages.
