Just like jazz revivals, there's always a new painting revival on the way if you hang around for long enough.
So far this year Nottingham Castle has hosted an anniversary exhibition of 19th century Cornish land- and seascapes and is currently hosting a show of 20th century paintings titled One Day Something Happens.
Djanogly Art Gallery is also hosting an exhibition by Emily Allchurch based on the works of old masters such as Brueghel.
