More than two years ago, we wrote that the question mark hanging over the Stanton Ironworks had finally been answered.The 1,950 homes, 2,000 jobs and £26 million boost to the local economy seemed to be the plans that would see the site finally put back to use.But that optimism soon turned to disillusionment as the plans were picked apart by residents from nearby towns and villages.One hundred and seventy seven objections were lodged, from groups as diverse as the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust.
