A shoplifter was given a chance to go straight after clocking up his 106th offence. Ben Cooper, 34, stole meat when he failed to receive drugs to help him fight an addiction, said his solicitor Robert Hardy McBride. He planned to sell the meat to buy drugs. "He needed a hit and that is why he did this.
