Sainsbury's has dropped an appeal against the city council's decision to refuse it a licence to sell alcohol.The store giant had wanted to take over the empty Habitat premises in Long Row West and applied to the authority for a licence to sell booze.But the new store would have been in an alcohol saturation zone, limiting the sale of alcohol in and around Old Market Square.
