Local beat teams in Sherwood are reporting a rise in distraction burglaries. Officers are warning that con men are making up stories to get into peoples homes, with the most recent elderly victim allowing a man into her house before he stole from her. "Always be on your guard when anyone you're not expecting -a man, woman or even a child - turns up at your door," said PCSO Tom Griffiths.
