A Polish-born charity worker told a court that he feared his drink-driving could affect the public image of his country. The comment came via a probation officer who interviewed Tomas Pyc, 35, who crashed into scaffolding on Beckhampton Road and ran off. He was later found to have 106 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, 71 over the legal limit.
