Nottingham Post published Nottingham wildlife experts fight to save hedgehogs
Wildlife experts and animal lovers are calling for people to do more to stop the rapid decline in Nottinghamshire's hedgehog population. Today has been designated Day of the Hedgehog and with it comes a new report,The State of Britain's Hedgehogs 2015, which says their population in rural areas has halved since 2000 and dropped by a third in urban areas. In the 1950s, the UK hedgehog population was estimated at 36.5 million but it is said to have plummeted to less than one million now....
