Nottingham Post published Magistrate says alcohol-related crime is on the up

A magistrate urged a man to be careful about his drinking and said she believes alcohol-related crime is rising. JP Joyce Emson made the comment after plumber Stephen Hopkins admitted being drunk and disorderly in Fletcher Gate on December 22. Nottingham magistrates gave him a one-year conditional discharge but he must pay £85 prosecution costs and a £20 government surcharge. He had a previous conviction related to drink.
