Five people learnt the price of failing to pay £50 fines for dropping litter - and will now face bills of nearly £500 each after ignoring a summons to appear before court.Action was taken by Nottingham City Council after its community protection officers saw four people drop cigarette ends - while a woman left a chip box on the pavement.All were fined £220 with a £30 government surcharge and must also pay the council's legal and investigation costs.
