Leonardo Mayer held off a firm challenge from Jiri Vesely to book a quarter-final date with Denis Istomin.The Argentinian (pictured), playing on court one, is the Aegon Open's fourth seed and is expected to go far.But he was pushed all the way by Czech Vesely who eventually succumbed to a 7-6, 7-6 defeat.He will now meet Istomin who produced a fine display to overcome Sergiy Stakhovsky in straight sets.The Russian secured a 7-5, 6-4, win, with the former world No.33 now hoping to spring an upset
