Nottingham's former Olympic champion Etienne Stott has announced his retirement from canoe slalom at the age of 37.Stott, who won Britain's first ever canoe slalom gold alongside Tim Baillie in the men's C2 category four years ago, brings down the curtain on a career which also saw him become a European champion in 2012.Stott attempted to qualify for this year's Rio Olympics in partnership with Mark Proctor but the pair were beaten to Team GB's sole place by David Florence and Richard Hounslow,.
