Nottingham Post published Former Nottingham Forest chairman Eric Barnes has died

Former Nottingham Forest chairman Eric Barnes has passed away.He died on Thursday. The cause of death has not been revealed.Barnes became the club chairman in 1999, taking over from Nigel Wray with the Reds well on the way to being relegated from the top flight.Born in Sutton in Ashfield, Barnes was a Forest fan before embarking on a three-year stint as chairman.The former managing director of General Universal Stores was replaced by then Forest owner Nigel Doughty in 2002.
