A fire has destroyed an Anglo-Saxon building on a nature reserve in Nottinghamshire - believed to have been the first structure of its type to be built in the county for around 900 years.
The reconstructed Anglo-Saxon dwelling, known as a Grubenhaus had been built at Skylarks Nature Reserve, near Holme Pierrepont.The structure had been hand-crafted by volunteers with the guidance of Nottinghamshire County Council's Community Archaeology team.
