Nottingham Post published Aegon Open Nottingham trophy named after the late Elena Baltacha
The Aegon Open Nottingham trophy for the WTA International event next month has been named after Elena Baltacha, who lost her battle with liver cancer on May4, 2014 at the age of 30.This is the first time the LTA has named one of its major event trophies after a current or former player, after unveiling the newly commissioned 'Elena Baltacha Trophy.' In her successful playing career Baltacha reached three finals on the grass courts in Nottingham, beating Carly Gullickson 6–2, 6–2 in.
