A mysterious bird was spotted in Nottingham city centre on Sunday.The small bird has been identified as a Woodcock which is a nocturnal wading bird with short legs and a long straight tapering bill. Woodcocks are usually found in the summer months in open green areas and originate in Finland and Russia.The number of Woodcocks have been declining in recent years due to a lack of suitable breeding grounds and are now classed as a globally threatened bird.
