Applications for 2017 secondary school places close at the end of October, so now is the time to start thinking about where you want to send your child. Parents in Nottinghamshire need to apply through the county council, even if they wish to send their child to a school in the city or Derbyshire. The process is easiest when done online at www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions, and applications close on Saturday, October 31.
