Notts County remain outside the League One relegation zone on goal difference despite some surprise results on Saturday.
The Magpies stay 20th after their 2-2 draw at home to Scunthorpe, but Crewe escaped the drop zone and are up to 18th after winning 2-1 at play-off chasers Sheffield United.
Leyton Orient also enjoyed a morale boosting win as they saw off Port Vale 3-1, the Valiants reduced to ten men at Brisbane Road. Despite victory, Orient remain in the bottom four, one point and two places.
