Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Stephen McPhail has retired at the age of 36.The Republic of Ireland international played 16 times during a loan spell from Leeds at the start of the 2003/04 season.He won 10 caps for his country and was most recently with Shamrock Rovers having also played for Millwall, Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday.He spent the latter years of his career struggling with Sjogren's syndrome, which affects the body's ability to produce secretions such as tears and saliva.Read
