Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell says changes to the domestic structure will make life easier for coaches and players. The 2017 season will see Division One of the County Championship cut to eight teams, with the other 10 making up the second tier. All 18 teams will play 14 four day games to free up space for blocks of limited overs cricket, ending constant changes in formats – something which frustrates players.
