Billy Root has put his degree on hold in a bid to break into the Nottinghamshire first team.The 24-year-old has played in two County Championship matches for Notts and made an unbeaten 66 against Somerset in the final game of last season.Now he has stopped playing for Leeds Bradford MCCU and suspended his degree in sports management to try and help take the next step at Trent Bridge.He is well aware he faces an uphill task to break into the side, but has made a good impression during pre-season.
