Nottingham Forest face stiff competition from Brighton and Burnley in the race to sign Gary Gardner this summer. The Reds are thought to want to recruit the Aston Villa on a permanent deal having impressed on his second stint on loan at the City Ground. Caretaker boss Paul Williams will recommend that Forest try to sign Gardner who is contract at Villa until 2018.
But Premier League hopefuls Burnley and Brighton are monitoring his situation as they go head to head in the chase for promotion...
