A bride narrowly avoided a wedding day disaster after her car broke down and got stuck on the tram tracks in Beeston. While frustrated passengers waited on trams for the car to be fixed, the blushing bride had to call a black cab to make the mad dash to St John's Church to make sure she got to her big day on time. A fracture in the front left wheel led to the 1934 Daimler being marooned on the tracks, causing delays of up to 45 minutes on the tram services.
