Firefighters are warning people not to leave magnifying objects, such as mirrors or glasses, near windows as the summer approaches to reduce the risk of things catching fire.The warning comes as one woman contacted Stapleford fire station to warn others about a near miss she had this weekend. Beverley Herrett contacted the station after she smelled burning in her home.She had left a mirror on the side in her bedroom, which concentrated the suns rays and began to burn the wicker basket she keeps.
