Rush hour traffic was brought to a standstill in Nottingham city centre as police closed Lady Bay Bridge for the second time in two weeks.

The main artery out of the city for workers was closed at around 5.30pm as police officers wearing fluorescent jackets appeared to be talking to a man on the bridge.

Traffic tailed back up London Road and right back onto Maid Marian Way.
