After almost 200 years away from the county, an historic painting could be returned to its Nottinghamshire home.The portrait of 'Little' Sir John Byron, who was the son of Sir John Byron of Colwick and the second Lord of Newstead Abbey, was previously thought to be lost or stolen.But it has surfaced in a private collection and Newstead Abbey, along with Nottingham City Council, are now bidding for grants to bring it back home.The painting, dated 1599, will be the oldest piece on display at the..
