Around 200 electric vehicle charging points are to be installed around the city to encourage motorists to drive electric or hybrid cars. Buses and taxis will also be banned from the city centre unless they are eco-friendly in a drive to improve air quality. They will have be electric powered or meet European low-emission standards to enter the "Clean Air Zone", set to be introduced between 2018 and 2020.
